26 Jun 2003 - Commanders Mike Davis-Marks, Tony Holberry and Chris Richards (DS) feature in list of officers selected for promotion to Captain, effective 30 Jun 2004. Where are the RPC invitations then guys? 22 May 2003 - Lieutenant Colonel Nick Arding, he of Greenwich Park Tree-Climbing fame, led the RN and RM climbing expedition which today successfully conquered Mount Everest - one week before the 50th anniversary of the first ever conquest by Sir Edmund Hilary. Alas Nick himself did not reach the top, that honour fell to Warrant Officer Dave Pearce who scaled the peak alone. Whilst Dave stood atop the world, Nick and other team members abandoned their own attempts in order to provide emergency aid to two stricken climbers close by on the mountain. Bravo Zulu! 31 Dec 2002 - Wing Commander John (BJ) Jupp RAF awarded OBE in the New Year's Honours List. 23 Dec 2002 - Birth of Hull No2 to Mike and Tracy Davis-Marks. George William D-M weighed in at 7 lbs 6 oz on birth, taking only 45 minutes to appear after mother's arrival at St Mary's Hospital, Portsmouth. Mother and son were discharged 4 hours later and Mike reports that both are doing well.
